Hackney Ark Resource Centre is now handing out FoodBank Vouchers
Hackney Foodbank provides short term emergency food to an individual or family in crisis while a long term strategy is developed. Normally enough food for 3 days (one voucher) should be sufficient to cover the immediate crisis. They provide non-perishable groceries, not pre-cooked meals, and so are most useful to people who have access to kitchen facilities and some storage. Therefore, they are not of good use to people who are not housed.
If you have any questions about this, please do get in touch with us.
The Resource Centre is also a collection point for Hackney Foodbank. Please help local people in crisis by buying items from the list below!
Milk (UHT or powdered), Unrefrigerated Fruit Juice, Tinned Fruit (in Juice!), Tinned Meat, Tinned Fish, Tinned Vegetables, Tinned or Dried Soup, Rice (500g or 1k bags),Instant coffee, Cereals, Curry and Pasta Sauce, Instant Mash Potato, Biscuits or Healthy Snacks, Rice Pudding (Tinned, Toiletries, Nappies & Baby Products, Toilet Roll, Washing Up Liquid, NO BAKED BEANS OR PASTA PLEASE!

Working with disabled children, young people and their families
Hackney Adventure Playground
The Adventure Playground provides the opportunity for stimulating, inclusive play on a closed access site. The Playground is situated next to the Lea Valley Nature Reserve, behind Springfield Park. It’s an accessible green space within an urban environment, where children can freely choose their play in a setting that is supportive of their requirements.
We have achieved the Quality in Play accreditation from Play England. This accreditation acknowledges that we are providing a good play experience for disabled children and young people.
How does the Playground work? The children and young people using the service tend to gain new transitional skills from the resources available to them. The openly structured environment promotes self-independence and freedom of choice whilst sharing a social experience with others.
