Whizz-Kidz: North London Ambassador Club
The Ambassador Club is a place for young disabled people to meet up, make friends and have fun! We do everything from music, dance, art , sports, beauty therapy, cooking, trips and a whole lot more.
We even run campaigns to help improve the lives of young disabled people by raising awareness of disability issues and campaigning for better facilities. The Club that meets at Haringey 6th Form College, N17 8HR, is one of 43 youth clubs covering the UK and meets for a whole day every six to eight weeks.
There is no charge to attend and Whizz-Kidz provides qualified healthcare staff to support young people with any personal and medical care needs they have as well as volunteers to support young people to engage in activities, so young people can become more independent.
The core group of attendees at the club are between the ages of 10-18, but we also have some slightly younger and older members too.

Hackney Ark Resource Centre is now handing out FoodBank Vouchers
Hackney Foodbank provides short term emergency food to an individual or family in crisis while a long term strategy is developed. Normally enough food for 3 days (one voucher) should be sufficient to cover the immediate crisis. They provide non-perishable groceries, not pre-cooked meals, and so are most useful to people who have access to kitchen facilities and some storage. Therefore, they are not of good use to people who are not housed.
If you have any questions about this, please do get in touch with us.
The Resource Centre is also a collection point for Hackney Foodbank. Please help local people in crisis by buying items from the list below!
Milk (UHT or powdered), Unrefrigerated Fruit Juice, Tinned Fruit (in Juice!), Tinned Meat, Tinned Fish, Tinned Vegetables, Tinned or Dried Soup, Rice (500g or 1k bags),Instant coffee, Cereals, Curry and Pasta Sauce, Instant Mash Potato, Biscuits or Healthy Snacks, Rice Pudding (Tinned, Toiletries, Nappies & Baby Products, Toilet Roll, Washing Up Liquid, NO BAKED BEANS OR PASTA PLEASE!
